Around the World: Paris

Just an FYI- my iPad is being weird in France and all of these pictures/posts may come out weird!
Today was the most amazing day. I basically grazed all day on savory and sweet. I could have cared less about calories and just cared about eating the most amazing things in sight. And so it started....

Marjorie picked me up at the airport ( thank god-the metro was at first confusing.) we immediately ate croissants (that were amazing.) our first stop was the most amazing and largest grocery store in Paris. I wouldn't even call it a grocery store. It was a giant carnival of foods are dozens of cultures. they had their own cheese shop, butcher, patisserie and a prepared foods section. We browsed around here for awhile then got down to business. We bought a fresh, warm baguette, some Serrano ham and a HUGE ash covered goat cheese heart. 1.who knew goat cheese came covered in ash? 2 who knew a huge chuck of goat cheese in the shape of a heart would be $4 euro. Not bad. We took our lunch to go and ate it on a park bench outside in a park. We the. Of course needed dessert so we had a
Citrus tart which was literally the best tart I have ever tasted. It was super sour, but in a good way. It was Devine.

We then went to a famous place for French macaroons ,Laduree Bonaparte. If you ever go here go upstairs. It is so beautiful and quaint. We went in time for afternoon tea,but Marjorie and I had a glass of wine with our macaroons we split. We had orange blossom, salted caramel, chestnut, and currant. They were all amazing and light.

After that we went home for dinner where Marjorie made me the most amazing Moroccan themed dish. Fresh sausage, spinach, chickpeas and onions with rice. It was delicious. And of course washed down with another amazing French selection of wind. Yum. I ate all day today and I cannot wait to see what tomorrow brings!! Stay Tuned!
