Lemony Dijon Pasta Salad

I love love love pasta salad!!! Now that the weather is getting warmer in New England I have had a hankering for pasta salad.I may be speaking too soon seeing it can be sixty degrees one day and snow the next. Either way, we are on our way to Summer!  I actually prefer pasta salad with a vinaigrette dressing instead of mayonnaise  Score for me that a vinegar based dressing has way less fat than mayonnaise.

Frozen Pumpkin Pie Doggie Treats

Dogs need yummy treats too! I am blessed with a pup that is a garbage disposal( any other pug owners agree???) Although she will eat almost everything I am pretty sure every pup will like these frozen treats. I have already made yummy frozen dog treats for Meatball before and she loved them. I like making my own dog treats because they have minimal ingredients and they are super cheap to make!

Strawberry Chocolate Chip Muffins

I need to shout from the rooftops how amazing these muffins are! I bought strawberries on a whim yesterday and wondered what I could make with them.I woke up this morning craving muffins and suddenly I knew those strawberries were destined for greatness. I of course like to "healthify" any recipe I find, but this recipe was already fairly healthy! I made some tweaks and the result was the most moist and flavorful muffins I have ever made. Yes, yes, I will share the recipe with you.

Guiltless Buffalo Chicken Pizza

Do you ever have meal envy? You know, when you are watching someone eat the most delicious meal and the meal you have sucks. This horrific scenario happened to me yesterday. I brought my lunch to work and could smell the amazing aroma of buffalo chicken subs from a coworker. I so badly wanted to sink by teeth into this fried masterpiece, but I held myself back and ate my boring lunch. Cut to dinner time. I needed my buffalo fix, but minus the enormous calorie count. Cue in guiltless buffalo chicken pizza.

Birthday's & Brewing Beer

Boy do I have alot of stuff to update you guys on! This weekend I celebrated my 28th birthday with my husband doing one of the most fun activities I have done in a long time, Brew Beer! My husband and I made the short ( long for Rhode Island trip standards) trip  to Incredibrew in Nashua, NH to brew this amazing beer. They basically have all of the equipment to make, bottle and take home your very own brew!Did I mention you can also make wine and soda? Yup, this place has it all.

Nutritional Label Reading 101

After watching a recent episode of The Biggest Loser I realized how uninformed America is about food in general. Kids have no idea how vegetables are grown or where food even comes from. I don't have any kids yet, but when I do you bet I will teach them all about food and how to nourish your body without eating processed food constantly. Easier said than done, I know. When I have two kids screaming in the back of my car and I worked all day I am sure swinging through a drive through would be the easiest thing, but I am going to try my hardest not to! I think that an important way to stay healthy is to know what you are eating. An important factor in that is making sure you understand nutritional labels. Look no further. I have some tips from Rachael Ray below!

Almond Butter Quinoa Blondies

When I saw this recipe in Eating Well  I could not wait to try these blondies. Instead of using regular flour the recipe uses quinoa flour! Genius! Don't have quinoa flour? Grind up raw quinoa in a coffee grinder and you will have quinoa flour in ten seconds. As if it doesn't get any better to get have blondies that are gluten free, they are only 146 calories each!

Foodie & Non-Foodie Fall In Love. Now What?

I was digging through some old articles that I had saved and found a great article that describes my life perfectly. Can a foodie and non-foodie eat in peace? I would classify myself as a foodie. Yes, I take  pictures of my food, yes I have a food blog, and think of food 24x7.  My husband on the other hand would be perfectly happy eating the same meal every day and prefers his food plain. I have noticed that some people don't exactly share my love of food. In fact, I think they could care less about food.

I can never understand the people who say they had cereal for dinner, hate cooking or just don't enjoy food. I just can't get on board that train. I think of food from the moment I get up to the moment I go to bed. I can't imagine life any other way. But what happens when a foodie and a non-foodie meet. Is it love at first bite or are you doomed to foodie pergatory for life?
