Dr Oz's Weight-o-rade

So for this WIAW, I wanted to talk about some other awesome meals I had in Seattle this week! These were just some highlights I haven't posted about yet so I am super excited to share them with you. I also wanted to share a recipe for Dr Oz's "Weight-Orade."In fact, I am sipping on some now. It is delicious! After you read about what I ate in Seattle you can see why I have to drink this!

Best Side Dish: Mac & Cheese Jak's Grill (OMG)
This was literally the best mac and cheese I have had ever. Toby and I were so impressed with it, we asked what cheese they used. In case you were wondering, gruyere, white cheddar and swiss.

Best Lunch: Carnitas enchiladas in green sauce and brown rice from Beloved Mexico Food Truck. I was eying this food truck since we got to Seattle since I could see it from Renee and Matt's house. This food truck had everything- tortas( Mexican sandwiches), tacos, burritos. I was in Mexican food heaven.

Best Dessert: Bailey's Cupcake from The Yellow Leaf Cupcake Company. OMG. These cupcakes were amazing. We got a dozen consisting of Guinness cupcake, Rainbow cupcakes, double chocolate and coconut lime. If you are in Seattle, stop by. It is amazing. Big thanks to Kate for the idea to go!

This awesome metabolism boosting drink contains:
Green tea:  shown to boost metabolism 12% by drinking just one cup
Tangerine:  increases sensitivity to insulin and stimulates genes that help to burn fat
Mint: a calorie-free flavor enhancer.

Ok, now for Dr. Oz's "weightorade." I can't even take credit for this recipe, well because Dr. Oz( health guru) made it up, but Toby introduced me to it.Dr Oz says that this drink is a "powerful metabolism-boosting drink." I am usually not into diet drinks or anything like that, but I really liked all of the ingredients so I figure if it works I am all for it! We put ours in a large pitcher and fill up our water bottles daily. Enjoy!

Directions:
In a large pitcher, combine:
  • 8 cups of brewed green tea
  • 1 tangerine, sliced
  • A handful of mint leaves
Stir this delicious concoction up at night so all the flavors fuse together. Drink 1 pitcher daily for maximum metabolism-boosting results.
Yum. Refreshing Mint & Tangerine Goodness
