Banana Bread Faux Fro-yo

This recipe is sort of an anomaly. There is no milk in this so technically it isn't frozen yogurt really. I am calling this healthy dessert Banana Bread frozen yogurt because it is made out of bananas! Of course I saw this on pinterest and it blew my mind. If you chop bananas and freeze them then blend in a blender or food processor the texture is just like frozen yogurt. Genius! If you don't like bananas, maybe this isn't for you. Hey, fair warning.

Cookies & Cream Bark

I could have entitled this post easiest dessert that you will be addicted to for the rest of your life. Or simply, food crack. My husband is in love with cookies and cream anything so when I saw a recipe for this I got some inspiration. After tasting it, I know why he loves it so much. It was amazing. What makes this even better? It has two ingredients! Yup, two. You can even use this as a base recipe and put your family's favorite toppings in it.

Birthday Funfetti Pancakes

What better time to eat cake than in the morning for breakfast! Saturday was my husband Toby's 30th Birthday and he requested these delicious pancakes. The trick to these is to add cake mix so they come out super thick and fluffy. The best part of these is the syrup. No need for maple syrup. The syrup for these little babies is basically icing and sprinkles. Heck yes!

Happy Father's Day to all of those amazing dad's in the world!! My dad has been so supportive of my blogging so it was only fair that I made him some of these delicious biscotti for him to enjoy for Father's Day this year. And let me tell you, this was one heck of a gift because I tasted these and they were delicious!

PB&J Bars

This dessert could quite possibly be my new favorite thing. Did you like PB&J sandwiches as a kid? Yes? Ok, then you need to eat these. When I was younger I actually hated Jelly so I stuck to straight up peanut butter sandwiches. I started eating jelly in college ( yes I waited that long) and now I can't believe I didn't have it sooner!

My 2nd Ever Kitchen Disaster: Oatmeal Cranberry & Walnut Cookies

I first saw the recipe on the Chew in one of my marathon sessions of watching The Chew. One episode two or three I stumbled on these delicious cookies! Oatmeal cookies have never been my favorite, but the addition of the tart cranberries really intrigued me!

Citrus & Olive Oil Cake

I was super excited when I saw this recipe. It immediately transported me back to the Amalfi Coast. Sorrento, Italy to be specific.Brittany, if you are reading this, how many lemon flavored cakes did we eat that trip? I swear, it was every meal. We sat in lemon groves and ate the most amazing desserts with the scent of lemons in the air. Good news for me, I love lemon cake. This recipe from Saveur Magazine is no different.

Olive Oil Ice Cream

Before you overreact and say,"Ewwww." Let me tell you how amazing olive oil ice cream is. I, like many of you did not think there was anything appealing about olive oil ice cream. Toby had the idea of making it for our All Local Dinner. I was sold. I borrowed an ice cream maker (soon to be my new guilty pleasure when I buy myself one)from my friend Jen  and we were on our way to flavor town.

Coffee Creme Brulee

Creme brulee is one of Toby and my favorite desserts. We usually get it at restaurants and a few years ago started making it at home. This is actually a really easy dessert to make. It is perfect for dinner parties because you can make it the night before. In fact, that is what alot of restaurants do anyway. As you know, all week I have been blogging about my All Local. All Rhode Island party ( sponsored by Foodbuzz.) This was one of our desserts. I used all local eggs, cream, and coffee beans. I did a play on coffee milk ( one of the most beloved drinks in RI.) Well, for me anyway. Growing up we would always drink coffee milk. Envision chocolate syrup for chocolate milk. This is what coffee milk was. Coffee syrup that  you mix with milk. This probably got me on my caffeine kick early on in life.

Valentine's Day Special: Nutella Stuffed Pastry Hearts

Well kids, it's almost Valentine's Day and that means 2 things: it's time to eat amazing foods enveloped in chocolate...and drink champagne. Yeah, I know. Not everyone's Valentine's Day is like that. Whether you are single, dating, or married this is a perfect dessert to serve! You can fill these buttery delights with anything (peanut butter, jam, cream cheese, chocolate chips or for those savory lovers - cheese. These were super easy to make but we put together a video for you so you can look awesome on Valentine's Day.  And if you are single it may be even better because you can keep these babies all to yourself.

Lemon-Lime Funfetti Cupcakes

So for my sister Kellie's birthday I told her Toby and I would babysit my niece and nephew ( Teresa & Anthony.) I read online that you can make these  soda( or diet soda) cupcakes. This also works out when you have no oil or eggs at your house. Just a disclaimer... I did used boxed cupcake mix. Sometimes, it is easy and it works.Whatever, We all do it sometimes. My niece Teresa loves to bake so I thought this was a perfect activity for us to do. This could not be any easier and might I add, lower in fat than regular cupcakes. When I made these before I used lemon cake mix and diet 7-up. Delicious lemon lime combination. I topped it with some fat free cool whip and a raspberry and that made one lean, mean, low-fat cupcake. Some other yummy cupcake combos are chocolate cake and cola, carrot cake and ginger ale or yellow cake with orange soda. The possibilities are endless!

Citrus Blog Hop: No Bake Lemon Raspberry Cheesecake

Hello Cheesecake...

No- Bake and Cheesecake. Two of my favorite words. This is a perfect dessert for people that do not like to bake or for people that like to make desserts ahead of time. I saw this recipe on Pinterest( of course duh) and it was originally posted on the blog, My Baking Addiction. This recipe could not have been any easier.I added this recipe to Oh Cake's Blog to share the #citrus love!

Hot Cocoa Cookies

I was very excited to help my friend Julie make these chocolate morsels of decadence this weekend for her family's annual cookies swap. We scoured the internet for the perfect recipe and we came across Rachael Ray's Hot cocoa cookies. They are chocolate cookies with pieces of molten chocolate stuffed in and a marshmallow on top. Once we found this recipe there was no need to look further.

Melting Snowman Sugar Cookies

How Cute is this Little Guy??

I love sugar cookies. I remember making them every Christmas with my Mom. We had such a blast. My new obsession is Pinterest. Has anyone ever been on this website? OMG. It is amazing. You can pin things literally for HOURS. It has given me so many ideas for things I want to make and other DIY crafts I need to try during Christmas break.

Booze Cake: Mudslide Cake

Alcohol + Cake= Amazing Idea. Toby and I found a cookbook entitled Booze Cakes. They had me at booze. The book is filled with great recipes like margarita cheesecake ( made with tequila) and jello shot cake. Genius. Saturday night I was invited to a Christmas party with some work friends ( Thanks Geoff and Jason!) I wanted to bring something delicious and alcohol ridden. This fit the bill pretty easily!

Peanut Butter & Nutella Cookie Sandwiches & Decorating our First Christmas Tree

We finally have put up our first ever Christmas Tree as a married couple. Exciting! We actually went to a tree farm in Rhode Island and tagged it Columbus Day weekend and picked it up this week! I slowly started to realize as I got the ornaments out and put them on the tree we had an awful lot of cooking related ornaments. Can you tell we like food much??? Take a look at some I found( the S'mores guy is my favorite):

Easiest Caramel Corn Recipe (Made with stuff from your Pantry!)

Look at that sweet goodness!

Toby woke up Sunday morning with a hankering for caramel corn. Seeing I now have this awesome blog we figured we would attempt to make it ourselves. Trying to use whatever we had in our pantry we found a recipe that fit exactly what we had and Boom! We had Caramel Corn. I didn't realize until half way through the recipe was for honey popcorn, but it tasted just like caramel corn and hey it uses no corn syrup so health nuts rejoice! Toby has become somewhat famous for his home made popcorn. I cannot tell you the last time we bought microwave popcorn. To be honest this is 1,000 times better!

Red Velvet Cheesecake Brownies

The Finished Product! Delish!

Need I say more? I like red velvet in any form. Much like Mexican food, if I see it on the menu at any restaurant there is a 99% chance I will eat it. Red velvet cupcakes, red velvet cake. This is the first time I have seen red velvet brownies and what better time like the present to make these babies. I saw them on Stumble Upon and for those of you that have not been on this website. Stop now. Don't sign up. You can spend hours "stumbling" and it is horrible for productivity. However- If you do happen to join stumble upon please stumble my humble blog ( shameless plug.)

Mario Batali's Fried Zeppoles

Fried Zeppole with Chocolate Espresso Sauce

Happy Monday Everyone! I saw Mario make these little babies on The Chew a few weeks ago. They looked so great and reminded me of little donut holes. The chocolate espresso dipping sauce didn't hurt either. The process to make these started Saturday when I was already in dough making mode from our pasta making. I made this in my kitchen aid mixer, which made this fairly easy. You are supposed to let the dough sit overnight in the fridge so if you are going to make this please plan for that. The dough is very loose so it needs time to set overnight.
